AKERN® bases its technology development and product innovation on the partnership with academic institutions and scientific communities across Europe.

Our research and development department works constantly with numerous universities each year to improve not only our equations/algorithms, but also to better define standards and references in order to more accurately and specifically identify alterations in body composition and related them to different pathophysiological conditions.

Thanks to rigorous research protocols, the results of our equations are validated against reference methods (MRI, Isotopic Dilution, DXA , 3C and 4C models) and their accuracy is so high that many of them have become standard algorithms for the scientific community and for devices of different manufacture.

Today AKERN® is recognized in Europe as a reference company for body composition science and is one of the most cited companies in the international literature.
